Hyderabad-based Aisha Rao began her career in law, earning a degreefrom the NUJS. However, her passion for design led her to Barcelona’s IED,where she honed her craft, followed by advanced training in Sewing andGarment Construction at Parsons in New York. In 2017, she launched hernamesake label, with a mission to transform luxury fashion throughupcycling, merging tradition and modernity to create statement-makingoccasion wear.

Founded in 2018, Aisha Rao redefines luxury through its distinctive approach to colour, form and technique. Bornout of a passion for design, Aisha Rao started her brand with upcycled occasion wear. From there, the brand hasbeen built as a reflection of individuality with modern silhouettes made from exceptional materials. Her signaturefocuses on appliqué that uses fabric waste to create vibrant motifs with an overlay of aari, zardozi, and macrame.The result is an eclectic mix of delicate and maximalist that feels both modern and of the moment. The values thatfirst guided the label continue to shape Aisha Rao today, and the brand’s designs continually challenge the notionsof what fashion can be.
